CLASSIC HORROR AND SCI-FI FILMS

AD527 Angel on My Shoulder (46) Colorized!  Deceased gangster Eddie Kagle (Paul Muni) dies and goes straight to hell.  The devil (Claude Raines) notices his new resident is a dead ringer for a judge up top, who is preventing people from becoming candidates for hell, and sends Eddie back up to possess the judge, and ruin the judge's reputation, adding to the roster of hell bound souls.  Ah the best laid plans of devils and men.  It's a wonderful life when Paul Muni goes to the devil.  Look for Noble Johnson as a Trustee of Hell.  In Color for the first time!   BA

AD552 Brain Eaters, The (58) Colorized!  An alien space ship has inserted itself into the ground protruding like a large cone.  The creatures are from an incredibly advanced (but vanishing) race, and they insert themselves into humans through small punctures at the back of the neck.  By doing this the fuzzy little creatures are in the driver's seat for the control of the human brain.  Another variation of Robert Heinlein's 'The Puppet Masters', a much used sci-fi trope.  Starring Ed Nelson as Dr. Paul Kettering, and Leonard Nimoy as Professor Cole.   Joanna Lee also stars, and was in 'Plan 9 From Outer Space' the same year.  BA

AD528 Devil Bat, The (40) Colorized!   Dr. Paul Carruthers (Bela Lugosi) creates perfume for the bigwigs, who pay him poorly for his work while they make a fortune.  His new scent (an aftershave) has special properties developed to be the catalyst for death in the form of a great fantastic bat he keeps as his pet.  Anyone with the scent will be hunted down and killed by the Devil Bat!  Dr. Paul Carruthers has many scores to settle.  Lugosi has some great one-liners like (when giving an intended victim the aftershave) 'I don't think you'll ever use anything else'.  Indeed.   BA

AD553 First Man Into Space (59) Colorized!  Before 'Incredible Melting Man' a similar tale is told in 1959, almost a nod to Hammer's 'The Quatermass Experiment' from 1955.  All three films regard a botched space voyage and a damaged astronaut who kills upon return.  This astronaut has crash landed and is nowhere to be found.  He is a monster on the loose covered with a strange outer space dust, and inflicted with a craving for blood.  A starving organism with a need to feed has taken over his body.  He will even kill and drink a cow, and break into a blood bank to get what he craves.  BA

AD565 Invisible Ghost (41) Colorized!  Bela Lugosi is great as a man who, after seeing his dead wife walking around the grounds of the estate, goes into a state of uncontrollable bloodlust.  A trance, that makes him seek out victims to strangle.  Stormy nights made clearer in color as well as Lugosi's mad strangler antics make for a fun time for fans of Bela Lugosi.  Also starring Polly Ann Young.  This was her last film.  BA

AD535 King Solomon's Mines (37) Colorized!  Cedric Hardwicke is Allen Quatermain in this first sound version based on the novel by H.  Rider Haggard.  Finally a colorized version doing justice to the high production values of a bubbling volcano pit and lava as it erodes the walls of a crater, sweeping shots of enemy armies marching across the veldt, the ghastly assassination squad led by a hump-backed tribal witch and more.  All adventure and finally in color.  Also starring Paul Robeson as 'Umbopa' who belts out a couple of strange songs that rival the simplicity of 'The Lion King'.  BA 

AD555 Monster of Piedras Blancas (59) Colorized!  The lighthouse keeper has been leaving food out for the monster for years.  Now the beast is hungrier than ever, and decapitated bodies are turning up!  Fantastic Colorized version of a classic!  The feet and lower torso of the suit were recycled from 'The Metaluna Mutant' from 'This Island Earth'.  The claws of the monster are from 'The Mole People'.  Great 50's monster fun and now in Color!   BA

AD529 Sin of Harold Diddlebock (47) Colorized!  A wimpy clerk named Harold Diddlebock (Harold Lloyd) looses his job and goes on a bender.  He is drunk very fast and wins a fortune on the horses.  He also buys a circus.  When he wakes up he has no memory of what he has done.  Numerous comedy moments with wild stunts, and also, a lion.  The picture went way over budget and was a comeback of sorts for Harold Lloyd and this is the last film he was involved in.  BA

AD526 Teenagers from Outer Space (59) Wonderfully Colorized!  A teenage alien falls in love with an earth girl and plans to thwart the alien invasion and takeover of earth.  They want to use earth to raise their 'Gargons' (presented here in back screen as giant lobster/crawfish creatures) that will also rid the earth of the pesky 'earthling' problem by gobbling everybody up.  On the heels of the good alien is a bad one, his ray gun locked and loaded to stop the other from warning earth.  The death ray gun reduces humans into skeletons.  Teenagers from Outer Space has never looked better, the giant crawfish more hilarious than ever!  BA

AD525 Treasure of Fear (45) aka: Scared Stiff - Colorized!  Failure would be newspaper reporter Larry (Jack Haley) lands himself into a murder mystery after a man is found dead on the Greyhound bus he is traveling in.  Now Larry finds himself in a tavern run by twin brothers who haven't spoken to each other in years, surrounded by a gang of undesirables and probably amongst them the killer, and stolen loot...  somewhere.   Ann Savage and Veda Ann Borg steal the show, what little of it there is.  The film ditches it's dark and murky look with a color transfer.  Also starring Barton MacLane.  BA

DINOSAURS, LOST LANDS, SWORD AND SANDAL, PEPLUM AND FANTASY FILMS

AD445 Alice in Wonderland (49) This version (there are many) of the tale combines stop-motion animation with live action.  This is the uncut 91 minute version that did not see America way back when because Disney stopped them as they promoted their version, and yet this is still one of the better attempts to bring the novel to life.  This may not be as cozy as Disney, but I prefer the darker nature of this oft told tale.  There are many interesting touches not seen in any of the other versions.  BA

AD327 Alice in Wonderland (76) aka: Alicia en el pais de las maravillas   The strangest version of the already strange tale, this time from Argentina and in Spanish with no subtitles.  Fantastic locations include Buenos Aires's downtown, parks and beach.  This modern take displays how creative a team with no money can get when trying to adapt a popular public domain title.  One reviewer described this version 'about as fun as catching your weenie in a zipper'.  You be the judge.  BA

AD556 Captain Kidd (45) Colorized!   Yargh!  Scoundrels on the rolling sea!  Charles Laughton's buffoonish portrayal as the pirate Captain Kidd gives him plenty of time to chew the ham.  John Carradine almost steals the show as his evil looking henchman.  Kidd, playing both sides of the sea lanes while in the employ of the King of England.  Set your history books aside, this is a swashbuckler with plenty of action and now in Color for the first time.   Also starring Gilbert Roland, Barbara Britton and Henry Daniell as King William the Third.  BA

AD444 Christmas That Almost Wasn't, The (66) Santa Claus faces eviction from his North Pole estate and workshop.  The deed is held by North Pole owning, child-hating, Christmas ruining, mean man Phineas Prune (Rosanno Brazzi) who demands back rent.  Santa must take a job and raise some cash or Christmas is over forever!  Add goofy songs and we get a treat that could only have sprung from the 1960's!   BA

AD530 Cosmic Man, The (59) The UFO has arrived on planet Earth in the shape of a small one-person sphere that looks like a large yellow beach ball.  Out of the sphere comes 'The Cosmic Man' (played by John Carradine).  While the sphere is investigated, the half-visible alien goes about his work.  The military men realize this being may be a threat to planet Earth, or an asset in destruction of perceived enemies.  The Cosmic Man is the cheap dime-store cousin of Klaatu, minus Gort so he's got no swag.  Cosmic Man is here to observe us, probably would have shared invaluable secrets with us if  humans had the ability to simply trust.  Although clearly, we do not for a reason.   Colorized very nice, like a new film altogether.  BA

AD482 Defeat of the Barbarians (62) aka: Scourge of the Barbarians   A power struggle to control Italian provinces with back and forth action and intrigue as Astolfo (Ken Clark), a heroic cavalier type, vies for the affection of the gorgeous Grenda (Moira Orfei, lord who wouldn't?).   Cut and paste stock battle scenes from who knows what other film, this costumer is one of the more obscure pictures of the era.  English Dubbed but there are Greek subtitles on the screen.  Also starring Gerard Landry.  BA

AD450 Na Cha and the Seven Devils (73) aka: Mei shan shou qi guai  A fantasy film about Na Cha, a man with divine magic powers derived from the power of the seven peaches that Na Cha has consumed in a sort of reverse Garden of Eden scenario.  There is above and below worlds.  Na Cha (like in the other film) must be the one who faces down the seven devils who are wreaking havoc in the world of mortals.  Giant birds, flying clashing swords, boomerang swords, flying daggers and goofy dragons come with the territory.  Widescreen  Mandarin with English subtitles   BA

AD520 Prehistoric Women (50) Narrated nonsense manages to entertain and teach us...  nothing!  Dancing cave women have sworn off men because they are mean.  Their leader Tigri (strumpet Laurette Luez) realizes they need men.  They really do.  Who else is going to hunt, take out the trash, and father children? See the caveman fighting a small cat (dangerous panther?), the invention of fire and cooking, a (rubber) pterodactyl attack, hilarious narration, the advent of a marauding giant and some (very) light S&M!  Filmed in color and the only prehistoric cheesecake you will see from 1950!  The giant is real, his next and last film would be in 1980 with Jodie Foster.  The movie? 'Carny' Johann Petursson was 7' 4"!  BA

AD322-S985 Prince of Space (59) aka: Invaders from Space  aka: Yûsei ôji   Ridiculously uniformed chicken-beaked aliens from the planet Krankor have arrived to invade earth!  Quick!  Call Colonel Sanders!  Their weapons cannot harm our avenger, The Prince of Space!  He's Japanese!  Prince of Space has a cape and a tight-fit leotard.   A giant alien monster in perfectly tailored clothes tries to stop The Prince of Space.  Is this the piece de resistance I had been waiting for?  This film is super-loaded with sharp cheap Japanese special effects and dubbed into English.  BA

AD519 Queen of the Amazons (46) A beautiful white and very clean tribe of Amazons have captured a man in the jungle.  His wife forms an expedition to go into the jungle and find him.  There he is, living with the mean Amazon Queen Zita (Amira (walks like an Egyptian) Moustafa, born in Cairo, Egypt) and her girls, all equally doable.  Stock footage and scenes of a monkey and a bird, equal characters in this farcical jungle romper room.  Who knew that you could see animals running in slow motion simply by holding the binoculars to your eyes?  Tarzan wept.  Also starring Robert Lowry and Patricia Morison.  BA

AD498 Revenge of the Musketeers (63) aka: D'Artagnan contro i 3 moschettieri  D'Artagnan (Fernando Lamas) escorts a young king into the hands of an evil cardinal, who has nefarious plans in store for his future.  The Musketeers come to the rescue and together with the young king form their group of resistance against the treachery of the tyrants.  Swash that buckle here we go again!  Watch out for that chandelier!  Also starring Gloria Milland.  Color  BA

AD480 Samson and the Seven Miracles of the World (61) aka: Maciste alla corte del Gran Khan   Known as 'Maciste in the Court of the Great Khan' this movie was shortened and retitled for American consumption.  Let's face it, 'Samson and the Seven Miracles of the World' is a better title, one I would more likely have to see if I were a theater going sword and sandal lover in 1962.  Samson, (Maciste, Hercules, all name interchangeable) aided by a rebel and a high priest, must rescue a Chinese Princess (played by Japanese actress Yoko Tani) from a marauding horde of Tartars.  Maybe the only time Maciste wandered into China and Mongolia for sword and sandal action.  Also starring Helen Chanel, who went from Italian made comedies, to sword and sandal, spaghetti Western, crime action and finally, the giallo!.  Widescreen  English dubbed  BA

AD489 Secret of the Blue People (61) aka: El secreto de los hombres azules   aka: Le Tresor des Hommes Bleus -  This desert tale involving a tough raider, betrayals, midnight at the oasis adventure on horseback and more is one of the most obscure pictures out there with Lex Barker as the star.  This picture was filmed in Morocco in the region of Oued Noun and the City of Guelmin and is one of a kind.  The black arabs wear blue and Lex Barker (as 'Fred') falls for Malika (Marpessa Dawn, born in Pittsburg!).  Better hitch a ride on a camel, that desert is a long haul!  Also starring Odile Versois   Color  In French (no subtitles).  BA

AD490 Secret of the Incas' Empire (87) aka: Alla ricerca dell'impero sepolto   The lost kingdom of the Incas is hidden, nestled inside a (possibly) dormant volcano in the difficult to navigate South American mountains.  The value of the treasures is immeasurable.  Enter a low budget Indiana Jones guy and a blonde bimbo to brave this world, wading across crocodile infested rivers, dodging poisoned arrows and trying to avoid cannibalistic headhunters before the most deadly task of all waiting for them when they find....  the secret of the Incas' empire!  Nice upgrade!  Kelly London in her only film.  Filmed in the Philippines.  BA

AD487 Serpent of the Nile (53) aka: Loves of Cleopatra    After the assassination of the great Caesar, Cleopatra (Rhonda Fleming) begins her ill-fated affair with the drunken weak-willed Marc Antony (Raymund Burr).  Rhonda Fleming manages to put sparks into her beautiful gaudy Cleopatra, even managing to toss a goblet-throwing temper tantrum into the proceedings.  The Roman outfits look high school play level quality, but the manipulative tart Cleopatra shines.  Filmed in color, don't miss the scene with a young Julie Newmar dancing in a bikini, painted entirely in gold paint, surrounded by two woman in Roman soldier gear, wielding whips!  BA

AD417 South of Pago Pago (40) A story of days not so long ago, when Singapore spawned a race of steel-fisted, iron-jawed adventurers, who fought hard, and died harder, as they ravaged uncertain seas, lured by the rich pearl beds off the shores of Manoa.  Evil men arrive, they want the riches without the hard work and are willing to kill.  Jon Hall, Frances Farmer, Victor McLaglen and many more.  Some slight picture problems at one point.   BA

AD564 Stone Flower, The (46) aka: Kamennyy tsvetok   There on the mystical Copper Mountain it is told that high up, exists 'The Stone Flower', a stone that is so mesmerizing, so captivating, that anyone who sees it is trapped up there forever by the pretty and mysterious witch of the cave.  A stone cutter, determined to perfect his craft to greater heights, makes the journey with determination and grit, to find the secrets, and dodge the alleged penalty.  A parable about the conflict between the inner and outer artist, and the lengths/sacrifices he is willing to go to in pursuit of his art.  Breathtakingly, beautifully filmed in color.  Russian with English subtitles  BA

AD407 Submersion of Japan (73) aka: Nihon chinbotsu    New Version!  Spectacular!  The real show stopper comes about forty minutes into the film with the out-of-nowhere fifteen minute earthquake that strikes Tokyo and kills three million people.  Lots of shots of oil refineries exploding, cars being annihilated in devastating crashes, people running around on fire and some graphic gore.  Submersion of Japan makes America's 'Earthquake' from the same year look like a tremor.  This movie was shredded and American actor Lorne Green footage added for an 82 minute incomprehensible version called 'Tidal Wave' which is also available.  This version however is the 2 hours and 43 minutes Uncut version Widescreen Japanese with English subtitles  BA

AD488 Survival of a Dragon (81) aka: Zai xi ying xiong   Ku, a warrior, is transported into the future to present day.  Two warriors follow him through this time warp and put his life in constant jeopardy.  Now Ku fights two battles.  One for his life, the other adapting himself to a culture and society which does not accept him and treats him like an outcast.  Taiwan Time Travel variation!   BA

AD485 Sword of Monte Cristo, The (51) Another off-shoot of 'The Count of Monte Cristo' turns into an exciting swashbuckler filmed in color!  In 19th century France, treasure is sought to finance a rebellion when a noblewoman decodes a clue.  Unusual for the time to have a female masked avenger, ably portrayed by Paula Corday (as the Zorro-like Lady Christianne), in this type of role.  The mansion used in the story is loaded with secret passages, the intrigue building to the exciting climax.  Love.  honor, duty, good values and victory.  A silhouette of a hero of the past.  Also starring William Conrad, Steve Brodie and Acquanetta!   BA

AD491 Treasure of Bengal (53) aka: Il tesoro del Bengala  Color!  Young Sabu lives in a small Hindu village where he protects the treasure of the village, the world's largest ruby held by a Kali like golden statue.  Little Sabu seems like a pushover, maybe even easily overcome, but this is Sabu we are talking about, and he is destined (written) to come out on top.  Pull up those baggy pants Sabu!  The film is staged for action and adventure with gloomy tunnels, sudden death traps and villains who whip and torture!  Peplum muscleman Luigi Tosi impresses with his manly physique.  Poor Sabu is bare back whipped while the lip-sticked effeminate villain smirks.  One bad guy is eaten by a tiger, thanks to the quick-thinking Sabu.  Finally a beach battle sword duel between Sabu and the main villain!  Sabu will return!  BA

AD496 Tyranno's Claw (94) aka: Tirannoui baltob   Korea answers Jurassic Park with this rubber monster dinosaur throwback.  It can be cheesy and lowbrow, even includes a fart joke and clonks on the head with rocks and weapons, cartoon-like.  A primitive clan sacrifices a man to a T-Rex (Tyranno?).  Later a cave woman pisses off the leader and he orders her to be the next sacrifice but she is rescued by a couple of the others...  This kind of goes back and forth but what we are waiting for is the dinosaur mayhem...  it's coming!   Caveman language is spoken, all you need for a savage prehistoric fantasy action feature such as this.  BA

AD497 Unknown World (51) Anti-nuke philosophical ramblings of pollution and war.  Maybe the center of the Earth is a more suitable habitat?  A traveling drilling craft 'The Cyclotram' takes a group on an expedition to the center of the earth where they find a giant cavern that resembles a surface shoreline.  Dodgy science, funny conversations and various perils await.  I think they were trying to be serious because there are no monsters in sight.   BA

AD323/Q470 Wang Yu, the Destroyer (71) aka: Rage of the Master  aka: The Hero   A casino owner helps the children of a murdered kung fu schoolmaster seek out Tiger Wang (his debut!) to help them get revenge.  The killer is a former student, expelled, who returned with a deadly gang and committed the dirty deed.  The fighting sequences build, finally hitting high speed during the tournament sequence.  Nice Widescreen and dubbed into English language!  BA

AD481 War in Space (77) aka: Wakusei daisenso  When an alien spaceship from Venus attacks Earth, we counter with our own ship for a war in space.  The Japanese aliens are blue, and wear what looks like rejected outfits from some Roman spectacle picture.  The future of mankind now counts on the space battleship 'Goten' piloted by a brave lot of Japanese.  In outer space, some of the spaceships resemble ocean ships with wild set interiors, certainly inventive, and all of the special effects and miniatures are quite impressive.  The Japanese released this the same year as our 'Star Wars' in the states, complete with their own epic soundtrack.  Widescreen and dubbed into English or subtitles- specify   BA

AD492 White Sun of the Desert (70) aka: Beloe solntse pustyni  aka: Il bianco sole del deserto   Now that the Russian Civil War has ended, a married army soldier who was planning on going back home to his wife, is enlisted to be the guardian of a harem, left behind by a guerilla leader.  He must take the women across the desert.  Reluctantly, he takes to his assignment, and eventually finds that he will do anything to protect them as they travel to their destination.  The women only show their faces to him, some are real beauties, although moustache woman does nothing for me.  Excitement, amusement and adventure await!   Russian with English subtitles  BA

AD483 Women of Pitcairn Island (56) Almost eighteen years have passed since the Mutiny on the Bounty.  The crew of The Bounty all lost their minds and passed on from madness and violence.  Now the island of Pitcairn is populated mostly by the widows and children of the mutineers.  The arrival of shipwrecked sailors turns things grave.  They want the women, and the lure of the cache of black pearls they believe to be hidden there.  James Craig, Lynn Bari, Sue England, Lorn Thayer (the waitress in 'Five Easy Pieces') and many more star.   BA

AD406 Candidate for Murder (62) A professional German hit man named Kersten (Hans von Borsody) has been hired by Donald Edwards (Michael Gough) to kill his wife Helene (Erika Remberg).  Kersten fails to deliver, and Donald runs him over with his car.  Kersten is still alive and goes after Donald.  Also starring Anneke Wills, who married Michael Gough a few years later.  BA

AD536 Door with Seven Locks, The (40) aka: Chamber of Horrors - Colorized!  Dr.  Manetta (Leslie Banks, 'Count Zaroff' in 'The Most Dangerous Game') collects instruments of torture which he keeps in his torture chamber.  A letter, a clue, a missing body, a murder, seven keys to open a crypt, a thunderstorm, a mute butler.  Within the crypt, secrets of a beastly crime.  Also starring Lilli Palmer.  Colorized Version!  BA

AD401 Five to One (63) Bookie Larry Hart (Lee Montague) is hired by Alan Roper (John Thaw) to launder a large sum of money.  Alan Roper is planning a heist, and the money Larry Hart will be laundering is his own, stolen from Larry right under his nose.  Or will the best laid plans of mice and men go awry as they sometimes do?  Edina Ronay is Gloria.  BA

AD399 Game For Three Losers (65) Married Robert Hilary (Michael Gough) is a wealthy man of influence who is blackmailed over an alleged non consensual kiss to his new secretary.  Her brother starts the shakedown.  When the payoff is not enough (it never is) and the brother demands more money, Robert Hilary contacts the police, resulting in dire consequences for all involved.  Also starring Mark Eden and Toby Robins. 

AD397 Incident at Midnight (63) Dr. Erik Leichner (Anton Diffring) is working late night when a shot bank robber is brought to him.  The twist is that Dr. Erik is not a doctor at all, but a Nazi war criminal impersonating a physician.  Luckily for anyone who needs a doctor there is a real one on the scene, an old retired man that is picking up a prescription.  The Nazi doctor has two blondes, one his wife, the other, his mistress.  One is killed, suspense builds for an intense finale.   Jacqueline Jones and Sylva Langova also star.  BA

AD398 Locker Sixty-Nine (62) A fraudster fakes his death after his business partner threatens to expose him, to avoid the consequences of his deadly grift which resulted in the deaths of many innocent people.  The evidence is kept in locker sixty-nine in a security vault.  Starring Eddie Byrne, Paul Daneman, Penelope Horner and more.  BA

AD400 Man in the Back Seat, The (61) Weak willed Frank (Keith Faulkner) and his partner in crime the dominant, nefarious Tony (Darren Nesbitt) kidnap a bookie who has the winnings of a dog race in a suitcase handcuffed to his wrist.  The bookie, now injured, spends most of the film's running time huddled and cuffed in the back seat while the thugs search for tools that can un-attach the loot and dispose of their seemingly mute charge.  Tension builds as time begins to run out.  Also starring Carol White.   BA

AD402 Return to Sender (63) A brilliant barrister is tasked with bringing a greedy corporate fraudster, who has stolen a large sum from his partners, to justice.  To undermine the prosecution, the fraudster hires a sleaze ball who specializes in smear tactics and dirty tricks to ruin the reputation of the barrister.  Worth seeing for the participation of Yvonne Romain (as Lisa) alone, straight off her short Hammer run in Curse of the Werewolf and Night Creatures.  Also starring Nigel Davenport, Geoffrey Keen, William Russell and Jennifer Daniel.  BA

AD403 Set Up, The (63) Just out of prison, Arthur Payne (Brian Peck) meets a man on a train who recruits Arthur into a criminal scheme.  This of course is an incriminating set up for a more sinister purpose, and Arthur is the man that will be left holding the bag.  A fake robbery, an interruption, a dead wife get the picture?  The man Arthur met on the train was seeing a younger, more beautiful woman behind his wife's back.  Arthur is a patsy.  But things never go so easy in either direction, the twists will come and... surprise!  Also starring Maurice Denham.  BA

AD405 Share Out, The (62) Corporate thieves use dirty blackmail tricks to force their victims into selling properties at blow-out low prices.  The victims refuse to talk to the police.  A police inspector and a shady private detective investigate when killings occur.  Bernard Lee, Richard Vernon, Moira Redmond, Alexander Knox and more star.   BA

AD396 Solo For Sparrow (62) The crooks didn't mean to kill the elderly shop worker when they kidnapped her so they could get the keys to the jewelry shop, but there it is.  She is now officially dead.  Inspector Sparrow (Glyn Houston) is on the case, leading him to the gang (which includes Michael Caine in an early role).  The copper goes rogue like a latter day Bronson/Eastwood type.  Entrapments, illegal wire taps, he even kills two men.  Everybody smokes and drinks their heads off and we get a little James Bond-like resourcefulness near the end.  Also starring Anthony Newlands  BA

AD478 Case of the Smiling Stiffs (73) aka: Case of the Full Moon Murders   'Dragnet' satire with two poker -faced detectives investigating what they are calling 'The Full Moon Murders' Victims killed by fatal blowjob.  Of course being left dead with a smile and a hard on sounds like the way to go (if you must, that is).  The killer is Emma (Sheila Stuart), a vampire that sucks the life out of her prey, but not through the neck.   Cue double entendres in deadpan mode consisting of diabolical childish humor.  The women are very attractive.  A sped up game of poker turns into naked leap frog.  By the climax Harry Reems pursues Emma, with a giant silver dildo in his hand that must be seen to be believed.  + trailers - This is the 68 minute version which is not quite as sharp as the 61 minute version.    BA

AD318 Fellini's Casanova (76) aka:  Il Casanova di Federico Fellini   Donald Sutherland, wearing a prosthetic nose and chin, with the front of his head shaved creating an enormous forehead, is the titular Giacomo Casanova, always in pursuit of the 'perfect' woman to bed (of course).  In this odd beautifully shot motion picture, the tone is set for messy gags, childish slapstick, aristocratic orgies, gaudy flamboyant costume choices, hunchbacks, nuns in heat, dwarves, sex contests, kitschy gay stage play antics and more.  Clearly Fellini was off his nut here and it shows.  Sutherland gives it his all playing Casanova as a man who uses sex to ward off death.  A man whose simplicity is overshadowed by his delusions of grandeur, his banal intellect blending imperfectly but naturally with the companies he keeps.  Colorful, magical, unforgettable.  Also starring Tina Aumont and Reggie Nalder.  154 minute uncut version in better quality!  The film is in English, though there may be a moment or two in French or Italian language.  Also with Tina Aumont at her loveliest best.  BA

AD382 Student Affairs (87) Sexy story directed by Chuck Vincent about the making of a movie with the same name.  Eighties young people making a sexy movie that takes place in the 1950's.  A movie about actors filming a sex comedy set in high school.  Nice female nudity and Chuck Vincent manages to get some porn stars in this feature as well as a healthy dose of homoeroticism, a simulated sex scene, and boobies.  I'll bring the six pack.  Veronica Hart, Tracey Adams, Beth Broderick, Henri Pachard as B.C. and Chuck Vincent himself as the cameraman!    BA

AD304 Black Cat, The (66) An unstable man is convinced that the black cat that his pretty young blonde wife (Robyn Baker) has gifted him, is his enemy.  All love and kisses at first, and then he falls into an alcoholic nightmare and sadistically kills the cat.  The cat comes back.  Poor wifey gets an axe to the head in a surprisingly gory classic shock moment.  Probably the scariest and most effective version of 'The Black Cat' by Edgar Allen Poe capturing the madness and paranoia of the main protagonist.  BA

AD352 Black Mamba (74) John Ashley's last horror film from the Philippines.  He plays mustached Dr.  Paul Morgan, an American physician treating the people of a small village.  Paul falls in love with the lovely Elena (Pilar Pilapil).  A black magic witch (Marlene Clark) has stolen a priceless ring from the grave of Elena's dead husband.  Now, Elena is the target of the witch.  Foggy spooky cemeteries, an uncomfortable exorcism on Elena, oddly inserted footage, a hunchback grave robber and a zombie that gives him a heart attack, a ghostly grim reaper figure, voodoo dolls, an occult altar set and the ultimate showdown between John Ashley and Marlene Clark.  The snake gets between Elena's legs in bed....   This movie was caught up in so many troubles of the time it did not see the light of day until after the death of John Ashley in 1997.  BA

AD357 City Horror: The Evil Spirit (02) Cha returns to her home town to film a documentary and finds many of her friends have married and some have already died under mysterious circumstances.  Could this be the return of a girl that Cha and her friends abused when they were all children?  Yah had been killed in a fire due to their mischief, and now she is back from the grave, an evil spirit looking for revenge!  From Korean television - this is an episode of City Horror (1 of 4) all unrelated, that run under an hour.  Widescreen   Korean with English subtitles.

The doctor kills a friend and uses his blood to restore his wife.  The daughter of the deceased arrives as a nurse, but secretly spies, learning the horrible truth, and plotting her revenge!  Skeletons that seem alive, failed experiments lurking, ghostly heads taunting, fire and an acid pit, designed to dispose of the dead, but in the end it is used for...   Korean with no subtitles

AD300 House of Devil: Evil Sledge (03) After being used in some killings, a sledgehammer is possessed by it's former owner (no, it is not Peter Gabriel!).  The young couple Ricky and Christina are the new occupants of the house.  Ricky finds the sledge and uses it for work.  Strange things begin to happen.  Ming visits the prison where the only one left of the last family reveals what the sledge was used for in the murders.  Ricky gets ornery with the sledge....   English subtitles

AD511 Jungle Heat (85) aka: Les Boys en enfer  In the waning days of the Viet Nam war a ragtag band is assembled and trained to drive trucks for supply runs.  Once out there things get brutal when they encounter a bald enemy and his little army of miscreants.  Baldie enjoys torturing those he captures.  Exploding huts, kidnappings, shoot-ups and an off-the-wall motorbike competition to see who can skid under a logging truck.  The picture is a sloppy hodge podge of confusion in a post-Rambo world but still manages to deliver some effectively nasty moments, and we give it thanks for that.  English dubbed  BA

AD500 Mark, The (03) Nineteen years old and disgustingly wealthy.  That is Mark, the manipulative and charismatic leader of a bizarre teenage brotherhood known as 'The Demons'.  Not the kind of group your mother would have over for dinner.  The Demons gang includes eccentric characters with various talents.  Mark has knocked up Giulia.  They have a fight and he rebounds by screwing the malicious (but beautiful) blonde Serena, who then vanishes.  Mark later finds out that he has a mark, left by Serena, along with some kind of curse, passed to those who have sex with her.  Filmed in English language  BA

AD439 Pervert Ward: Torture of White Uniform (88) aka: Hentai byôtô: Hakui seme  A nurse comes to realize that the new patient that she is treating for his injuries sustained when he was beaten over the head,  may just be the killer who has been stalking the city with a metal baseball bat.  Of course, she is young, hot and distracted by her feelings of sexual lust, and engages in soft core sex with the doctor who likes to grease her up, wear latex gloves and go to town on her nubile young body behind closed clinic doors.  The patient is recovered, her fantasies get out of hand.  Sexual prodding with a gun to her lady parts is just plain wrong.  The girls remains insatiable.  The ending is a twist.  Japanese with English subtitles 

AD438 Sex Killer, The (65) aka: The Girl Killer  Before 'Aroused' 1966 with a maniac and mannequins there was 'The Sex Killer'.  This uncensored version is the template.  The basic gist of the story involves Tony, a loner that works in a mannequin factory who enjoys strangling women.  Tony has become fixated on the mannequins, which leads him to peeping, murder and necrophilia.  The women are all beautiful and there is plenty of nudity, but since Tony strangles his victims, there is no blood and gore.  Tony spends much of his time peeping with binoculars, and even has date night with the head of a mannequin.  Creepy. AD473 Shadows Run Black (85) aka: Indiziato di assassinio   A killer known as 'The Black Angel' enjoys cutting up college girls who used to be prostitutes.  Luckily for the viewer, the girls like to take showers and flaunt their bodies in scenes of gratuitous nudity.  How else are we mere mortals supposed to understand the plot?  A bloody stabbing, a mashed head, a visible boom mike, a fat lesbian, racism, idiotic red herrings and lots of full frontal.  Let's hear it for the girls!  Luckily when they investigate a noise, they forget to put on a shirt.  Barbara Peckinpaugh (who is in this) despondent, killed herself at age 27 in Hawaii in 1987.  Her scene here is one of her best a 'gratuitous stalking and kill nude scene' tour de force.  BA

AD472 Stark Raving Mad (7?/81) aka: Murder Run   We have seen 'Badlands' with Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek, based on the Charles Starkweather murder spree of the 1950's.  This is another version of the same story, filmed in the 1970's and not coming out until 1981.  Here, Richard Stark and his 14 year old girlfriend engage in some days of mayhem after exhausting their options.  The movie is a darker, grittier version, with plenty of leather jackets and cool cars.  Killings, more graphic than what we saw in 'Badlands', with more madness and anger involved.  At one point the angry Charles beats and rapes a pretty girl, while his young accomplice watches.  BA

AD458 Violent Killer (87) aka: I Want to Get Even  aka: Barang Terlarang   Bad Cobra and his gang of miscreants deal drugs, runs guns and kidnap and rape women.  Irma is pregnant, and fights off Cobra's attempts to have sex with her.  In response, Cobra has Irma gang raped.  Infuriated, the husband of Irma dumps her and she has a miscarriage.  Irma dresses up in black leather and gets a bazooka and goes on a killing spree of all of the men who have wronged her.  Widescreen dubbed into English  BA

AD383 Bitter Springs (50) Aussie western collaboration between Australia and Great Britain.  Aborigines fight for their land after losing it in an unauthorized land deal.  Wally King, his clan and workers have taken the water hole.  Trouble starts right away when Wally's son shoots the same kangaroo the Aborigines are trying to spear!  They react by kidnapping some of the white folk and burn down the first built homestead of these new settlers.  The son kills a tribesman, and is speared himself!  The family is cut off from the water hole by the Aborigines, and the final conflict begins!  Or....  Starring Michael Pate (small role as a Trooper), Gordon Jackson, Tommy Trinder, Chips Rafferty and more.    BA

AD415 Cilla in Scandinavia (71) Kid television show featuring your host the peppy Cilla who talks to a stuffed fox and sings along to little ditties with the children.  They even sing 'The Tra-La-La' song which was the theme to the American kid show 'The Banana Splits'.  Cilla sings 'The Beatles' song 'Drive My Car' and all together for 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'.  Things get crazy when Cilla bumps into Ringo Starr on a snowy ski mountain.  Eventually Ringo is banging on a piano in the snow singing 'It Don't Come Easy'.  They end this show with 'What the World Needs Now is Love Sweet Love'.  Before this show there is an episode of another show from England called 'Crackerjack' where kids compete for swag (various games, prizes, toys).  Watch as they try to hold on to what they have won as it piles up in their arms!  Cilla was well known and loved and a friend of 'The Beatles' since their early days.  Cilla died In Spain August 2015 of a stroke following a fall.  She was 72.  This disc is a fun window into yesterday. 

AD365 Dope (68) aka: Boots at Midnight   Follow a young girl in England as she spirals into drug addiction.  She is beautiful, but now she is a junkie.  The free spirit of the era, the lure, the spell of a Marianne Faithful existence (she's in it too, playing herself, a real life junkie).  Like a butterfly caught in a web Caroline struggles with her fate, the master of puppets pulling her strings, seducing and going in for the kill.  Franzisca Baum stars, and her real life is another story altogether!  BA

AD459 Laurence Olivier: A Life (83) This documentary made in the United Kingdom contains an overview of the career of Laurence Olivier, and also the man himself, at his home, walking the grounds and being interviewed inside his home, where he talks of certain roles and films that made him a star.  Olivier will tell you what's what, about how he feels about things, and is way more down to earth than I expected him to be.  Clips and snips of his best films and more!  (at least, up to 1983) Both parts on one disc! 

AD303 Projected Man, The (66) Dr. Paul Steiner (Bryant Holiday) is busy at work on his teleportation machine (think, 'The Fly').  After using himself in the ultimate experimental test, Steiner becomes a deformed monster-faced man (a decent and grisly makeup job) with the ability to electrocute people to death with a single touch.  Naturally, Steiner then goes on a murderous rampage and kidnaps a blonde.  Incredible picture and Widescreen!   BA

AD388 Story of Ruth Ellis, The (77) In the year 1955, Ruth Ellis became the last woman to be executed in Britain.  This is an investigation into just why and how, who was involved and more.  The filmmakers talk to surviving witnesses and include rare interviews.  But what did Ruth Ellis do to deserve such a fate?  She shot her race car driving lover, dead, presumably because he was engaged to another woman, on April 10th 1955.  In July, she was hung by the neck until she was dead.  Compare this to  Claudine Longet, who pretty much did the exact same thing in 1976 to her boyfriend in Aspen, Colorado and only did 30 days in jail.  Mick Jagger and Keith Richards even wrote a song about her called 'Claudine' which really went after her with sarcasm.  Everybody knew it was a rage killing, but there was a lot of money involved.  Claudine is old in 2026, and free to this day.  + a Nessie short called '10 Times Nessie Made a Splash' featuring those ten times with clips and commentary. 

AD442 Swallows and Amazons (74) Set in 1929, a tale of adventure 100 years before cell phones and video games kidnapped young minds forever.  The four children of the Walker family sail on sailing boat Swallow on a lake and camp on Wildcat Island where they meet and clash with the Blackett sisters and their craft, Amazons.  The competition begins!   An era mindset where children were more resourceful, smarter, and were braver than 99% of kids of the 21st century.  A classic childhood adventure that also stars Virginian McKenna and Ronald Fraser.  BA

AD394 Best of the Horror Festivals 1994 (94)  A long long time ago, the horror genre thrived and many of the stars and directors of the 1960's, 1970's and even the 1980's would attend conventions and celebrate their accomplishments with their devoted fans.  This is great to see.  Paul Naschy mingles with fans, interviews are conducted, clips of films are shown.  Most of the featured celebrities are dead and buried now.  It is nice to see them celebrated and given their due.  Jorg Buttgereit, David Warbeck, Lucio Fulci (with a translator).  Norman J. Warren, Doug Bradley and of course Jacinto Molina Alvarez, known to us all as Paul Naschy.  Then hit the dealers floor where wares are pedaled and the wallets start to loosen up. 

AD494 Beyond the Walls (84) aka: Me'Ahorei Hasoragim  In an overcrowded Israel prison a corrupt security officer deals drugs and stirs race hate within the walls which house both Arabs and Jews.  PLO terrorist suicide bombers rub shoulders with Israeli rapists and drug addicts.  A match made in hell.  Arabs are framed for killing a Jew and a young inmate kills himself rather than lie about what happened.  Political and disturbing.  Relevant even today, the hate will never go away.  People will kill the other until no one is left.  Male nudity.  English Language Version  BA

S375 Carnival of Crime (62) aka: Sócio de Alcova   A builder in Brazil investigates his wife's disappearance and uncovers evidence that she was sleeping with multiple partners behind his back.  Meanwhile he is falling in love with his pretty assistant.  A subplot involves two macho mustached mercenaries who are tracking some revolutionary in the Brazilian forest.  Back to the main plot, the builder is now a suspect in the case of his missing wife.  BA

AD309 Close to Home (86) Many of the people appearing in this film play themselves.  The characters of the children are fictional.  Their stories, however are based upon actual events.  The harrowing and tragic lives of runaway teens, hustlers and drug addicts on and around the streets of Canada in the 1980's.  Surviving these streets looks easier than surviving the streets of big town America for some reason, at least in 1986.  Still, kind of tragic for some of the people involved here.  Starring Jillian Fargey and more.  BA

AD455 Crime Hunter: Bullets of Rage (89) aka: Kuraimuhanta ikari no judan   A cop and a nun go after a man who has stolen a load of dough from the church, and also murdered the cop's partner.  What plays out is a film that runs under an hour and crams more ultra-violence and bullet-blasting madness than in most 2 hour films.  Tough good guys who take no crap, leather jackets, fast cars and degenerate villains that need to...  MUST die...  and violently!   Japanese with English subtitles  BA

AD508 Cry of the Innocent (80) A sabotaged plane goes down in the Irish countryside, a direct hit on a farmhouse where the Donegin family have taken holiday.  Green Beret veteran/businessman Steve Donegin (Rod Taylor) has just lost his family, and it was no accident.  Donegin is not a man you want to mess with, and this is Rod Taylor doing anger as only Rod Taylor can.  (Remember 'Dark of the Sun' and 'Darker Than Amber'? You should, in both he gets very angry!) Truth be told this could have been more vicious, but the countryside setting and Donegin's revenge kept my interest throughout the 93 minute (Uncut) running time.  Also starring Joanna Pettet and Nigel Davenport.  Joanna Pettet had lunch with Sharon Tate on the afternoon of August 8th 1969.  That night, the Manson gang killed Sharon Tate.  BA

AD512 Dead Wrong (83) aka: Entrapment   A drug-laden boat sets out from Colombia on a stormy, danger-fraught smuggling run.  Aboard, a desperate gang of modern day pirates, a devil's den of villains, and also a beautiful curvaceous undercover agent named Penny (Britt Eklund) with a huge problem.  Penny is torn between duty and her illicit love for one of the smugglers.  Penny has a choice to make, before it is too late.  What Penny is doing, is Dead Wrong!  Will her new choices be as well?  BA

AD429 Eighteen in the Sun (62) aka: Diciottenni al sole  French teenager Nicole (Catherine Spaak) meets young Italian men while on vacation at an Italian island resort.  Beautiful color locations make you wish you could join them.  Confusion, unintended comedy and romance ensue.  Starring a young Gianni Garko as Nicola.  Spaak is a knockout at 17, exactly why she was picked for this film.  She died in 2022 in Italy of a cerebral hemorrhage at age 77.  Both Gianni Garko and Catherine Spaak would star in dozens of important Italian films.   Italian with English subtitles  BA

AD432 Empty Beach, The (85) Cliff Hardy (Bryan Brown) is a private investigator who is hired by Anne Winter (Anna Maria Monticelli) to try to find her husband who supposedly died at sea by suicide two years before.  His body was never found.  Hardy is an unkempt slob of a man, a popular private detective trope.  A cliché, but an entertaining one.  He encounters a plethora of unsavory (scary) characters, and even has a transvestite killer after him.  Comedic touches, great location shooting (Sydney, New South Wales, Australia) and pretty girls.  Widescreen  BA

AD523 Enter the Panther (76) aka: Conspiracy  He struck like a bolt of lightning!  A struggle for control of a gold mine begins with a violent poisoning and does not end until the body count piles high.  Martial arts master Bruce Li battles his way out of some almost fatal narrow escapes.  Enter the Panther delivers the punches, the hits and the kicks and is an example of Kung Fu action at it's best!   BA

AD430 Ernie Game, The (67) Ernie Turner (red-haired Alexis Kanner) is a very strange man.  Smug, obnoxious, paranoid, unstable and also, a charmer that enjoys pranking people he doesn't know.  Ernie is careless and irresponsible, probably unemployable, easily accepted by the naiveté of women.  Ernie can talk his way into any women's space.  Ernie buys a gun, and finds a man that is not very bright to go along with his plans of robbery.  Can Ernie survive from himself?  BA

AD454 First Name: Carmen (83) aka: Prénom Carmen   Godard, while in a madhouse, creates Carmen in this film within a film meant to provoke.  He even says something extremely sexual and nasty to his niece the randy old pervert.  What we end up with in his tale of the girl Carmen (deliciously played by Maruschka Detmers) is a mixture of 'The Last Tango In Paris' nasty sex talk/full frontal male and female nudity, meets string quartets, girl-on-the-run Cinderella in a world of artsy fartsy mankind hating self indulgence.  Beware the shower scene in the end when he forces his masturbation on Carmen, this is hardcore I believe and misogynistic as hell!  Oh Godard, you so silly!  French with English subtitles  BA

AD381 Fools (70) House-sitting, older, horror movie actor Matthew South (Jason Robards) meets the beautiful and lonely neglected housewife Anais Appleton (Katherine Ross) who is struggling with her identity and where she is heading.  Anais is in a bitter relationship crash with her husband, and has an affair with the much older Matthew.  The soundtrack is great (Kenny Rogers and First Edition).  Filmed in San Franciso with a lot of the sights.  Also starring Scott Hylands and you can spot Joanna Cassidy in a minor role, Mako, and Suzanne Somers as a woman at the baptism.  BA

AD518 Hard Choices (84) Cocaine snorting social worker Laura wants only to help 25 year old Bobby (Gary McCleery) who is being screwed by the system in 'out of proportion to the crime' punishment.  Laura becomes his friend, then his liberator...  and on to the next obvious step.  Bobby's lover.  Laura helps Bobby escape, now they are naked and having sex, working for a drug dealer, living a life of crime.  Nothing good can come of this.  Also starring J.T. AD560 Heroes, The (80) aka: Xia gu ying xiong zhuan   A Shaolin Temple is burned to the ground.  Kao and the others, pledge vengeance!  Ti Lung plays against type as Kao, one of the villains who is tasked with rounding up Shaolin survivors and torturing them, the torture resembling kung fu training.  Wait a minute, just what is Kao up to?  Could he be training the survivors for an overthrow!  Hmmm.  We see flashbacks that provide us more on Kao, and we soon learn his true motivation.  Great fights, exaggerated sound effects and plenty of action.   Widescreen  print has a glitch or two   English language dubbed  BA

AD389 Judex (63) Judex is an old fashioned word for a judge and this film features this man Judex in a bird mask and his efforts to punish wealthy evil-doers and also a criminal gang who are led by a wicked woman.  Plenty of serial-like narrow escapes, high-tech gadgets and improbably inventive situations that sometimes have surprising outcomes.  The ending involves a roof top cat fight where only one will survive.   Fantastic new upgrade, much sharper than previous version!!  French with English subtitles  BA

AD419 Killing Bottle, The (67) aka: International Secret Police: Driven to the Wall  aka: Kokusai himitsu keisatsu: Zettai zetsumei    When a crime organization sets up to kill the President of Buddabai  along with his general, two agents of the International Secret Police are sent in to stop them, one of the agents played by the very busy at the time  Nick Adams!  The picture borrows from Bond with outdoor action sequences, gadgets and camp, a killing foam used as a secret weapon, a toy boat used as a torpedo, flashback war sequences and more.  The foam is like 'the blob' at one point almost submerging Nick Adams when he is trapped!  This was the last Nick Adams film for Japan.  His last film the following year was for Mexico!  Widescreen  Japanese with English subtitles  BA

AD308 Soldier Warriors (86) aka: Dogs of War   Crack anti-guerilla unit known as 'The Five Hell Stars' enter the jungle to destroy the headquarters of the enemy.  One, is a face-painted Mohican-looking archer.  Dr. Death, another of 'The Five Hell Stars' carries a harpoon gun and wears a black hood.  With no 'short bus' in sight, this 'very special' group will face fast adventurous jungle battles in sometimes rocky terrain as they encounter fierce natives and other obstacles in the jungle of death.  Excellent action and violent killings.  Other footage appears from another film and now we know Godfrey Ho wrote the screenplay!  Most of the film is from a Thai film called 'Dogs of War'.  This is dubbed into English language.  BA

AD505 Weed (75) aka: The Florida Connection, The   Redneck fun as marijuana smugglers go at it with corrupt (and racist) cops in various chase sequences and shoot-outs.  Hillbilly extras resemble and talk like rejects from 'Hee Haw'.  Starring football quarterback Dan Pastorini who would later do a nude center spread for 'Playgirl' in 1980.  Also starring June Wilkinson (Pastorini's wife at the time) and also well known regional actor Bill Thurman.  These movies have disappeared since marijuana is no big deal anymore.   BA

AD302 April Morning (88) April 19, 1775, the American Revolution begins with the 'shot heard round the world'.  The conflict results in confrontation between the Colonial Militia and the British troops in Lexington and Concord (Massachusetts).  Enough concrete detail to give us at least close to an idea of how this story of the liberation of America from British rule came into play.  And it all happened on an April morning.  Many notable actors featured including Robert Urich, Susan Blakely, Rip Torn and Meredith Salenger.  BA

AD387 Bobbie Gentry (71) Two more episodes of the Bobbie Gentry Show!  The first episode features special guest star Mason Williams!  The show is like a series of  videos basically, with Bobbie performing on different stage built sets/settings and/or sometimes walking outdoors in the woods.  Kind of like Hee Haw without the comedy bits.  The second episode features guest stars Jerry Reed and Sue & Sunny.  One of the segments recreates a 1920's dancing girls and guys stage sequence.  Another slows 'California Dreaming' to a crawl with Bobbie singing and Sue & Sunny wailing away, somehow turning it into a funeral dirge as they segue into ...  just what exactly? Geez man this really happened.  Save us Jerry save us.  This song cannot be saved.  + My Way: The impact of the iconic song by Frank Sinatra and clips of the dozens of people who covered the song.  Even a child choir doing the song.  A drag queen trio known as 'The Disappointer Sisters' gets in on the song with their version.  Sid Vicious of 'The Sex Pistols' hits the stage and chokes out his version.  (Most of this is in clips and are not full performances, but still pretty cool).

AD563 Forgotten Made for Television Volume Four (various) 1.  Steptoe and Son (65) Failed Pilot for what would eventually be made as 'Sanford and Son' this one features white guys instead of black guys.  Aldo Ray and Jonathan Harris star.  This was an American version of a British sitcom.     2.  Josie (83) Josie (Elizabeth Daly) is a pretty high school girl with a loose reputation.  3.  Jack of Hearts (86) A thirteen year old girl is mortified when she is given the part of a boy in a ballet recital.       4.  A Bolt of Lightning (51) The story of James Otis (played here by Charlton Heston), the American Patriot who contested the right of British troops to search the homes of colonists during the Revolutionary War.   5.  War of the Worlds Unaired Pilot (75) The demo reel prepared by George Pal, just a few minutes, the whole thing was scrapped.  This is the pilot, the idea, that was never fully realized, followed by special effects test footage from various George Pal productions.

AD354 Jungle Virgin Force (88) aka: Jungle Ritualer (it's how they spell it on this release!)  aka: Perawan Rimba   In the open.  a jungle woman swings on a vine and gives us her best Weissmuller which falls weak and flat.  She swings into the river and does battle with a five foot rubber crocodile that seems to be menacing swimmers.  Dodged that floater!  A lost tribe on a remote hidden island that splits in two.  Sexy fur bikini wearing women and their queen  versus savage grunting ape men and their violent priest.  Enter scientists, followed by ruthless treasure hunters who are after the mysterious gold treasures hidden somewhere on the island.  Violence, cannibalism, spikes and impalements, light Deodato-like animal abuse and one woman is strapped to a cross and decapitated.  A nice evening of genuine family entertainment!  English language dubbed  BA

Che botte... strippo strappo stroppio   Drug traffickers in Hong Kong are about to meet their match when agents arrive to stop their reign of crime, and also to rescue other (kidnapped!) agents.  The Supermen are in fine form during the Nixon era in their bullet proof suits.  Judo Kung Fu is their specialty, wrapped around their zany humanly impossible stunts.  The villains are nasty, the humor abundant, sometimes (most) tongue-in-cheek, with irony (yes yes sometimes).  Jackie Chan is an extra, and also worked on some of the stunts of this film that was made over 50 years ago.   Widescreen and English language dubbed  BA

AD391 Big Gundown, The (67) aka: La resa dei conti   Top notch pasta directed by Sergio Sollima and finally uncut as it was meant to be seen.  Lee Van Cleef as bounty hunter 'Colorado', enlisted to hunt down an outlaw bandit (named Cuchillo played by Tomas Milian) who allegedly raped and murdered a twelve year old girl.  Cuchillo must be brought back alive so the town leaders can make an example out of him.  As things get more dangerous and crazy, Colorado learns that Cuchillo is not the rapist, but Cuchillo knows who the fiend actually is.  Widescreen 110 minute alternate version.  The other version is 95 minutes  BA

AD384 Little Cowboy, The (73) aka: Küçük Kovboy  A Turkish Spaghetti western starring Cuneyt Arkin channeling Terence Hill channeling Clint Eastwood.  Yes, he seems more like Terence Hill here doing his thing.  A kidnapping results in the hiring of a gunslinger (Keskin, played by Cuneyt Arkin) to sort things out and deny the bandit his demanded ransom.  Oddly enough they even managed to fill this with familiar faces from Italian spaghetti (sword and sandal, giallo), like Ida Galli, Pascale Petit and Sergio Ciani (aka: Alan Steel), these faces mingled with the dozens of Turkish actors throughout.  Turkish language only no subtitles at this time.  Very colorful and easy to follow.  BA

AD427 Longest Hunt, The (68) aka: Spara, Gringo, spara  aka: Stark, el pistolero    Outlaw Chad Stark (Brian Kelly) escapes from prison and finds himself on the wrong end of a rope.  He is saved under the condition which involves locating Fidal, the son of a wealthy Spanish landowner.  Fidal, Stark later learns, has taken up with a band of baddies led by 'The Major' (Keenan Wynn), Stark's former comrade in the army.  Noisy action.  twists and shootouts.  Also starring Erika Blanc.  Widescreen  BA
